At the beginning of April 2020, while the rest of the world was shutting down, Herbert’s opened it’s doors for business. After enduring two lock downs that came with the pandemic, Herbert’s has emerged as the soul of Inner North Belconnen. Owners and operators, Dino and Kristin Martiniello, have brought their dream to life through this exceptional ‘local’ gastropub.

Paying tribute to the Suburb’s namesake as much as it showcases a genuine pride and connection with the Canberra region, Herbert’s is exactly what a ‘local’ should be!

Through the relaxed vibe, fresh food, craft beer, local wine, and genuine hospitality, the Herbert’s mission is realised – ‘everyone who comes to Herbert’s, leaves happier‘.

The ethos behind the kitchen is to celebrate flavour through freshness with most of the menu freshly made on premises.

The Herbert’s kitchen takes pride in supporting and celebrating local and regional businesses and producers. Just about all meats, breads and vegetables are sourced locally. Herbert’s loves to support small local producers such as Mean Streets Urban Bees.

With a big range of GF options, all diets are catered for, and the kids are not forgotten.

The copper taps, gently lit by the huge dome light will grab your attention as soon as you enter and while the beers that pour from these taps change often, they consistently showcase quality beers from independent Australian craft brewers. Herbert’s also boasts a great selection of Canberra region wines and Australian whiskys and spirits.

Whether you’re having lunch with your mates, dinner with your family, or anything in between, Kristin and Dino want the Herbert’s mantra to ring true for everyone that steps inside, and that is… you’re welcome.
