Since opening its doors early 2020, Herbert’s at Evatt has quickly become the soul of North Belconnen, and at its heart are local hospitality veterans, Kristin O’Neill and Dino Martiniello who have long dreamed of creating the quintessential ‘local’.
Paying tribute to the Suburb’s namesake as much as it showcases a real pride in the Belconnen region, Herbert’s is exactly what a ‘local’ should be, and more!
Whether it’s through the modern relaxed décor, the fresh aromas emanating from the kitchen, or the genuine hospitality you receive when you step inside, at Herbert’s you always feel as warm and welcome as you would in your own living room.
The ethos behind the kitchen is to celebrate flavour through freshness, just about everything on the menu is made in house.
The Herbert’s kitchen takes a lot of pride in celebrating and supporting local and regional producers by sourcing ingredients as locally as meats from the Evatt Butcher, breads from the Evatt Bakery, and vegetables freshly sourced from the Belconnen markets.
All diets and dietary requirements are catered for and the kids are definitely not forgotten.
The stunning copper taps gently lit by the huge dome light will grab your attention as soon as you enter and while the beers that pour from these taps often change, they consistently showcase quality beers from independent Australian craft brewers. Herbert’s also boasts a fine selection of Canberra region wines and a modest but growing selection of fine spirits.
Whether you’re having lunch with your mates, dinner with your family, or anything in between, Kristin and Dino want the Herbert’s mantra to ring true for everyone that steps inside, and that is… you’re welcome.
